Bethesda has announced an interruption in the operation of the so-called Creation Club, a service that enables you to easily download and install mods in the studio's games.

  1. The interruption is dictated by the need to carry out extensive maintenance work.
  2. The service will stop working on the morning of November 29. For now, it is not known how long all this state will last.
  3. Downloaded mods will still be available for play - it will just not be possible to download and install new ones.
  4. It is not known exactly what changes will be made to Bethesda's modding services. Fans suspect, however that during the hiatus the studio will lay the groundwork for the introduction of official mod support in Starfield and the game's integration with Creation Club.

Recall that although Starfield has already lived to see many mods (the game ranks 13th in terms of their number on Nexus Mods), for now they are made by the cottage industry method, using fan knowledge of the engine from previous installments of the series. Bethesda has already announced that official modding tools will be released next year. So gamers are hoping that the maintenance work means that the tools will be made available soon, and not, for example, at the end of 2024.

Starfield debuted in early September on PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with an extensive Community Patch available only for the PC version of the game.
