Control 2 Officially Confirmed

Remedy Entertainment has officially confirmed work on Control 2. True, we've known about the sequel to the 2019 game for some time now, but until now the project existed under the codename Heron. The company also revealed some details about the upcoming work.

In June last year, Remedy announced that it will create several new video games in the coming years (including two set in the world known from Control). The first of these - Condor - will be a multiplayer spin-off to Jesse Faden's story, while the second - codenamed Heron - a high-budget continuation of the original.

Meanwhile, today, representatives of Remedy Entertainment for the first time renamed Heron to Control 2 on the studio's official website, thereby confirming that the upcoming game will be a full-fledged sequel to the 2019 title.

In addition, the developers announced that they will oversee the project together with 505 Games, which will shoulder, among other things, the release of the title on consoles.

And while we're on the subject of gaming hardware, it's worth adding that Control 2 will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The sequel will be built on the proprietary Northlight engine.

It is also known what budget the project received. According to the information provided, it oscillates around 50 million euros. Remedy will retain full rights to the brand and will share the costs and generated revenues 50/50 with 505 Games.

In addition to the above information, on the website, Remedy has released concept artwork from Control 2. You can see it below.

Finally, it is worth highlighting the fact that the release of Control 2 is, for now, a melody of the future. Some time ago, on the occasion of the disclosure of the latest financial report, Remedy revealed that the title is only in the conceptual stage.

An introvert by nature. Since childhood, he felt a closer connection to humanism than to the sciences. Instead of exercises in maths, he preferred shutting himself up in his world and inventing new stories of his favorite anime – Dragon Ball. After years of study came a time of stagnation, which he preferred to call "searching for purpose." Looking out for destiny during the 58th screening of his beloved Die Hard, he decided – like John McCLane – to fight for a better future. He found the avenue to do this in Gamepressure. Since he's still a freshman in the newsroom, he doesn't have a target subject he wants to focus on yet. So, you can expect news about farming simulators, or the impact of Johnny Depp's trial on the future of Pirates of the Caribbean. If you ever hear that playing console games and watching movies is futile – remember this story
