The Esports World Cup Is Launching in Riyadh in Summer 2024!

Hosted by non-profit entity the Esports World Cup Foundation, the Esports World Cup (EWC) is a new multi-game competition that will be hosted annually in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The first edition is scheduled for Summer 2024 and is "the natural next step in Saudi Arabia's journey to becoming the world's leading gaming and esports hub, offering an unparalleled experience that pushes the boundaries of industry,” said HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia when announcing the tournament in October 2023.

Two months of competitions and fun

The Esports World Cup will take place over eight weeks and will revolve around the biggest and most competitive games, across genres. The best clubs on the planet will be invited to compete for record-breaking prize pools. Clashes promise to be epic!

Spectators from around the world will be able to follow each competition live from the event or online on streaming platforms such as Twitch. Throughout the event, visitors will also be invited to enjoy unique entertainment experiences inspired by the world of video games.

With a value of around $1.5 billion in 2022, the esports industry has become one of the leading global entertainment sectors.
